another feature article about a girl who was the only one from her school to qualify for state. the rest of the team isn't practicing anymore, she runs her 800's by herself. the school colors are black and red. ... i came up with this. feedback is good if you have it.

I think, unlike the previous photo, the alienation of the subject from anything besides a recognizable structure is actually effective. I thought before reading the caption that the subject was portrayed as a lone runner - which is exactly what she is. Good yob.
Yeah I agree with Grant, and on another note, this is one of your better abstract-esque shots. I dig.
thanks guys. yeah shooting for a newspaper has my pictures more literal than i like sometimes...though i guess my weird stuff tends not to see the light of day as much either. i gotta keep the fact that it needs to tell a story front and center, much more front and center than trying to stylize my work...but if i can do both, sweet.
either way thanks for the feedback.
hopefully ill get to posting more weird stuff when im in nyc this summer in front of a computer all day ( and shooting in the streets when im not in front of the computer) and after school starts again for me. maybe ill even post a portrait of james nachtwey if he lets me take one.
