Peter - I love the first shot of the flower. I know it might not be the coolese subject in the world, but it's well done. The DoF is really nice. The whole shot is really well exposed and I like the saturation.
Did you do a lotta dodge/burning to get the exposure correct?
The flower has almost no PP, just a bit of levels in ps.
I shot these with a yashicamat 124g tlr on recently expired kodak portra 160 (known for its warm tones, imagine i got decent nature colors on it, go figure), and scanned on a sorta crappy flatbed.
A little burn on the bicycle photo but other than that just levels on them both.

no seriously, these are great. Would you make the photo essay about a stretch of "route 78" and what occurs on it? How wide of a distance would the essay cover? Interesting idea...
